Fun and Fabulous Funky Junk!

 

 

This past weekend I had the honor of having a booth at the Fabulous Funky Junk Show! There was a great turn out, and it was especially fun Friday evening when it was packed with women for the "Save the Ta Ta's" event. I baked 120 pink cupcakes for the evening and we had a blast!

 

 

 

I want to thank everyone who came out to the show, and made it a success. I had so much fun seeing a lot of familiar faces and meeting all sorts of new friends, and fellow bloggers.

 

 

 

For those of you who could not physically be there, I want to share some pictures of my booth, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the moral support I have received, and the positive feedback, I really appreciate it!

 

 

 

Next year's event has already been put on the calendar, so mark yours for May 15th, 2010!

To all the other vendors who participate along side of me, I feel like you are my extended family, and I enjoy each and every moment shared with you! I was surrounded by so much amazing talent it is overwhelming!

 

 

 

To my dear sweet darling niece Kalie, you were such a huge help, there is no way I could have done the show without you! Thank you so much for always making sure my coffee was hot!! :)

Dear sweet Miss Kim, Thank you for the sustenance you brought as a gift, for without the lovely loaf of tasty bread, I fear I would have never eaten the whole time of the show! So thank you!

Thank you so much for your kindness, and for bringing your fabulous Junk Bus to the show. The women were all amazing, and I was so happy to be a small part of the fun!

A Fancy Farmgirl Crown

 

I just love when I have a muse to create. When I am making something for someone, I try to put a lot of my own style into it, but keeping in mind who the recipient is, and try to make something that reflects them as well. That becomes my muse. Trying to look at a project through their eyes, chose the colors that reflect them, the embellishments that they might like but yet they still know it reflects my style as well. 

 

 

 

I really love making crowns, and who doesn't like to collect them? Ok, I am sure there are a lot of people who don't get the whole crown thing, but fortunately for blogging and the internet, those of us who love crowns can converge on blogs and facebook and share our love for the royal pretties.

 

 

The friend that I was making this crown for is very vivacious and unique. I was going for a sophisticated yet slightly flamboyant look for the crown, and with the addition of the feathers on top I think I achieved what I was going for! 

 

 

The pearl and rhinestone strands are recycled from a wedding headpiece found at an antique store and re-purposed for the crown.

 

 

 

I was wanting to smock something, and I didn't get around to making the smocked dress I had hoped to make this summer, so I smocked the silver ribbon instead. I have another crown to make before November for a Silver Bella swap, and after making this one, I am inspired to make another one right away!

Let's Make Monday Less Monotonous

 

How do we make Monday less monotonous? By looking at dreamy pics and beautiful blogs of course! Monday is typically my "catch up" day. Coming off of full weekends, there is typically lots of housework, correspondence, errands, etc. But today I wanted to post some more pretty pictures from my birthday trip to make Monday a little more fun.
I took these photos at a lovely little shop in La Conner, Wa. Called the Moon Rose. The proprietor was so sweet, and shop was just lovely.

 

It was closed when we first arrived , and I wanted to make sure I got to go in before leaving town. Luckily enough her gate opened up a short time after .

Within the walls of the shop were lovely chippy vintage treasures.  

 

 

 

 

The perimeter of the shop was a lovely garden, where everywhere you turned, was tucked a secret.

 

 

 

The back porch and shed offered up many more rusty relics.

 

After touring through, we left and went on our way, but not before capturing a few more pretty pics from around La Conner and Orcas.

 

 

So I hope my pretty little pictures made your Monday a little less monotonous, and a little more fun.
